Walgett Show is the main event on Walgett Show Society's calendar.  It is held at Walgett Racecourse and Showground, typically on Mother's Day weekend each year, with a current trial of moving to earlier in autumn to avoid the increasingly busy time of sowing winter crops.  The Show brings together Walgett Shire residents and visitors are welcome. 

 

The first Walgett Show was held in 1887, with 2024 marking the 85th Annual Walgett Show in 137 years.

 

With livestock and pavilion exhibits, sideshow alley and rides, market stalls and trade displays, horse events and the exciting and interesting range of refreshments and entertainment attractions, there is something for everyone. It might be a small Show, but it showcases the talent and community spirit that can be found in Walgett Shire.  It is anticipated that Walgett Show Campdraft date will move away from Show weekend with the change of date, to avoid clashes.

 

In 2023, Walgett Show Committee worked on planning a COVID-safe events and participants will be able to enjoy some upgraded Showground facilities, thanks to the support of Walgett Shire Council and the NSW and Australian Governments.
