Dog Sports & Children's Pets

Dog Sports is a fun way to start Sunday at Walgett Show, whether you are a participating competitor or a spectator.  With nominations taken from 8.30 AM, for a 9.00 AM start at the saddlery enclosure, the program includes events for young handlers and their dogs, as well as the more serious dog agility competitors.  In 2026, there will be the egg and spoon race, the recall race, bend and balance, sitting hoop (a new event in 2026) and the $100 Barrel Race.  Following the Dog Sports is Children's Pets, with judging based on child-pet bonds, for dogs and other pets happy to come to the Show.  Family pets can be entered by more than one child.
